Amateur Radio Emergency Services
The Amateur Radio Emergency Service® (ARES) consists of licensed amateurs who have voluntarily registered their qualifications and equipment, with their local ARES leadership, for communications duty in the public service when disaster strikes. Currently, ARES District 3 and Hermiston Amateur Radio Club (HARC) have joined together to offer a series of NET meetings being called Elmer Net. These NETs are being developed and implemented by club members, ARES members and interested parties to accomplish two major goals: to provide seat time practice on the air and to inform the NET participants in practices and protocols of Amateur Radio Emergency . A schedule of those events may be found here HARC Training SEE District 3 Page
